We are currently looking to fill the following roles for the 2019/2020 season.
A description of the each roles and whats involved is listed below:
Programme Organiser :
February to June - prepare schedule of sessions for following year:
Consult information about previous artists, speakers etc in programme organiser materials
Seek recommendations from club members and other contacts
Look at websites of other art clubs in the region.
Identify expertise within club
Based on dates available compile varied programme - 2/3 talks: 9/10 clubnights; 7/9 demonstrations; 8/10 workshops (and critique, social and outdoor sessions if required).
Invite artists, club experts and other personnel and agree nature of activity for specific dates; negotiate fees and technical support needed
Agree topics for clubnights and enlist club members to oversee these sessions
July / August - finalise programme for website and distribution at AGM
August to June
At beginning of the month contact the people responsible for sessions in the ensuing month - confirm needs for the session, location/parking and arrangements for the evening.
Write an overview of each session including the materials members should bring and forward this to the Chair and website coordinator for inclusion in Brushstrokes and the website
Liaise with committee and club members to ensure that individuals are identified to meet session providers, set up, introduce and thanks providers, support the smooth running of the evening and ensure the room is left in a satisfactory condition.
Exhibitions Organiser :
To manage all aspects of Spring and Autumn exhibitions.
Existing Materials :
Timeline and checklist of tasks to be performed.
Template documents from previous years.
Exhibition entries database.
Ensure venue (Ripley Town Hall) booked in advance.
Ensure we have guest artist and patron to choose winning paintings & present trophies.
Prepare entry documents and information to send to members.
Update timeline as necessary.
Liaise with other committee members & helpers (publicity, treasurer, raffle, flowers, database etc)
Receive entry forms from members and enter into database.
Print out catalogue and exhibition labels.
Attend on assembly day to oversee set up of exhibition
Attend at end to oversee dismantling of exhibition

Checklist of activities
The main activity is twice yearly preparation for the exhibitions:
Contact all the publications who list our exhibitions and give them details of dates etc. This is done by email.
Organise the design and printing of exhibition flyers and posters. Distribute these at club meetings.
Deliver posters/flyers to places in town that will display them e.g. tourist information centre, library.
Get a few posters laminated and put them up around Ripley village in the week before the exhibition.
Remove posters promptly from Ripley village at the end of the exhibition.
Also look out for any opportunities to publicise the club and maintain the club twitter account, which also publicises the exhibitions.
