The Friends of the Valley Gardens are a group of volunteers who work to conserve, enhance and promote Harrogate’s beautiful Valley Gardens for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. They are working closely with Harrogate Borough Council iand have a number of projects underway, one of which is to restore the Japanese Garden area.

They recently approached us to see if we would like to work with them to raise awareness and promote the project. We did this by running a japanese garden painting competition. The winning painting was chosen at our Autumn Exhibition in November along with two runners up. These images will now be used by Friends of the Valley Gardens in posters and cards to raise funds and publicise the project.

This is a great opportunity for us to help our local community and to raise awareness of the Art Club at the same time.
