Name: Linda Rinearson

Location:  I spend half the year in Harrogate and half the year in Newton, Massachusetts, USA

Formal Training:  For my career I worked as a software engineer then director of engineering for international telephone systems. In college I took some classes in oil painting but didn’t pick it up more seriously until 14 years ago when I was approaching retirement. Since then I’ve taken classes at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, at the New Art Center in Newton, MA and numerous workshops including Charles Reid, Joel Janowitz, Mary Whyte, Joseph Zbukvic, Alvaro Castagnet, and others.

What Inspires You:  Light and the mood of a place

What Are Your Ambitions:  To paint and to always improve as an artist. I paint because I enjoy how I feel when I paint . . . if the results are good that’s even better.

Awards:  Three Honorable Mentions from the Newton Art Association. 

Exhibitions:  Newton Open Studios and as part of group exhibits for the HANAC, Newton Art Association and Newton Watercolor Society.
